    How to Prevent Duplicates in Excel

    There are a few ways to prevent duplicates in Excel. You can use the Data Validation feature to restrict the values that can be entered into a cell or range of cells. You can also use the Remove Duplicates feature to remove duplicate rows from a data table.

    To use the Data Validation feature, select the cells that you want to restrict, and then click the Data tab on the ribbon. In the Data Tools group, click Data Validation. In the Data Validation dialog box, select the Data tab. In the Allow list, select the type of data that you want to allow. In the Values list, type the values that you want to allow. Click OK.

    To use the Remove Duplicates feature, select the data table that you want to remove duplicates from. Click the Data tab on the ribbon. In the Data Tools group, click Remove Duplicates. In the Remove Duplicates dialog box, select the columns that you want to compare for duplicates. Click OK.
